Yep, that’s right today on my lunch ride I was in shorts.  In case you haven’t checked the calendar, today was the first day of winter.  After a rather long cold snap here in Denver we have been experiencing temps in the upper 50s the last couple of days and today broke the 60 degree mark.  I sneaked out at lunch and got 20 miles in on the Cherry Creek Bike Path.  I was feeling pretty good considering I did a 7 mile run yesterday afternoon.  Riding back towards my office north on the path I was greeted with a strong headwind symbolizing the storms to come.

Tomorrow the weather is expected to change considerably along Colorado’s front range with what could be a powerful late December blast of cold air and of course snow.  I wouldn’t be worried about this snow storm and following the forecast so closely, but I’m flying home for Christmas on Wednesday night which is the peak of the storm.  I’m really hoping this is not a recreation of the Christmas snow storms of 2006.  We’ll have to see what the National Weather Service says in the morning.
